Ever wonder where the founding members of Devourment went after MTD/1.3.8? They stopped doing anything for a while, became born again Christians, and formed Meshiha. Nick and I both think this sounds terminally decent (and it isn't very slammy, really) but we'll wait for a proper recording to surface to make a real judgment...wanna see if you agree/disagree with our current call? Meh. I'm not really excited for this. I have a bad feeling...
It's slammy part of the time but my main problem is the weird and kind of ridiculous shifts (which some people might call 'technicality' but which I like to refer to as weak songwriting) that don't highlight the slams. This plus the fact that they said it'd be like MTD only darker has me a bit worried if it sounds like this...the recording is incredibly bad too though, so I guess we'll see.
I agree, some of the shifts seem very week. The slams don't seem heavy AT ALL, which really weakens the sound overall. And alot of it seems detatched, boring. Like it was all written for the fuck of it, which never leads to anything good. Like Meathook sounds. Not bad, but overly generic.
I agree with Andy, but I'd like to hear a some material with better sound quality before I make any significant judgments.
where are the wigged out- hat backwards kinda slams though- I thought this was supposed to be the second coming of 1.3.8.
Why do you all have bad feelings here? It sounds very acute and awesome to me. The recording is not so bad Andy, i think you have been listening to too much Nuclear Blast and not enough demo self released stuff :)
Thanks to Andy for posting our little video, Its just a camcroder recording so I apologise if the audio quality isn't that great, but hey its free! haha! Alot of people wanted to see what we have been working on. I wish we would have got more footage when we where writing MTD so we are working on getting better sudio/video footage of the writing process! Thats just some excerpts from one song, I'll get some more footage of the others and work on the quality of the recordings! Thanks for Checking out our video!
